Aurvana Live!
brandon campanera says...
These headphones sound really nice. For the price, especially that offered @ J&R. I don't think there's a better sounding set of closed cans in the same price range as the Creative Aurvana Live! headphones. The bass response is really nice, the mids are clear and the highs are acceptable, if a bit understated. With a good EQ, one can make up for this in a heartbeat. They really do sound great, but unfortunately, ship with an inferior 3.5mm extension cable. The cabling on the headphones themselves is nice, at least 20g, and coated in a type of rubber that makes tangles impossible. The extension cable is probably around 22g, for all 3 strands of wire! I would estimate the actual signal transmission wires in the thing are around 26g, if that. Now, this isn't a big deal really, as these cables are easy enough to make, but I would rather have a better quality cable, or a cheaper product altogether. As for the comfort of these, well, my ears are slightly larger than normal, and these headphones hurt a bit. I can't wear them for more than 2-3 hours, as my ears really start to feel it... But, I'm slowly getting used to them, so it's not so bad.All in all, these are amazing for the price bracket. For reference, these are used with high quality Mp3 or AAC encoded music (320kbps CBR) through a H/K AVR-130 amplifier, connected to my PC's HT omega Striker's sound card via TOSLINK.
