The good:I needed a secondary phone system in a peripheral office area of my home where the 5.8 Ghz add-ons would not reach the base station. This 6.0 GHz model does not compete with 1st system or any other wireless communication within my house. The voice clarity is very good, the base unit doesn't take over the whole desk, and the range surpasses the Panasonic 5.8. It works well for me.The not so good:In an effort to find its own niche, the Uniden 6.0 has some quirky settings to jump through. Once you get past all the [too many] bells and whistles, you'll have a nice working system.

If you are used to cordless phones having interference, those days are over. I set this phone with 2 extra handsets up for my Mom, and the signal is crystal clear. She's using it with a popular VOIP service via FiOS, and it works perfectly as if it were connected to a standard copper line. Setup wasn't super simple for someone who's not used to navigating pointless menus, not sure she could have done it very quickly on her own, but once it's set up, it works great. Can't comment on the answering system as she has voicemail, but everything else works well. I do wish the handsets had a speakerphone option. Uniden's next generation DECT 6.0 handsets (the 20XX series) has this feature, as does my older 5.8GHz Uniden system, so not sure why they failed to include it on this series. But if that doesn't matter to you these are great. Range is excellent, as I was able to get a crystal clear signal down the street 3 houses.

Tiny base speaker barely audible.Directions wrong, could not do step one--enter the time--you enter date and time then press ok per instructions then phone button but time is NOT entered. After 8 tries I saved myself the grief of wasting any more time on this junk.
